Review by Phil Manhire

Amphibian, the latest album by Mariner, is a unique and captivating musical experience. The band's signature sound, which blends elements of rock, folk, and Americana, is on full display throughout the album's eleven tracks. From the opening notes of "River Song," the listener is transported to a world of lush, organic instrumentation and haunting vocal harmonies.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Wildfire," an upbeat and catchy tune that showcases the band's ability to craft infectious melodies. Another highlight is "The Tide," a slow-burning ballad that builds to a powerful climax. Throughout the album, Mariner demonstrates a mastery of dynamics, seamlessly transitioning from quiet, introspective moments to explosive, full-throttle rock and roll.

Lyrically, Amphibian is a thoughtful and introspective work, exploring themes of identity, relationships, and the natural world. The songs are full of vivid imagery and poetic language, inviting the listener to reflect on their own experiences and emotions.

Love this song, its like a musical roller coaster. Oh the memories, FLA in the 90s.
I have this CD. It's pretty good today still. I especially like Doppleganger and Ballenopera and this song.
I worked with Jay at a Civil Engineering company in Jacksonville back in 2001. He stopped me to ask about the Orbital tee shirt I was wearing and we started talking music. Nice dude, it's good to see he's making music again.

Song reminds me of how Florida doesn't get credit for
helping to grow what is now called EDM. From Simons in Gainesville, Firestone
in Orlando, The EDGE in Ft. Lauderdale, to the FEVER parties in Miami. The
homegrown talent both DJ’s and in production not only created a sound that was
unique to the region but fueled today’s version of electronic music. Music that
got your ass shaking, arms moving, and body doing stuff you never thought you
could do, not like today's jumping up and down looking at a stage like lemmings.
This song brings back the better days, when dancing and expression of what you
heard was more important than just saying you bought a ticket to be there.
