Review by Aron Limudisk

Partitas 136 by Bach Piotr Anderszewski is a stunning album that showcases the masterful talent of the acclaimed pianist. The album features Bach's six partitas, which are a collection of keyboard suites that are known for their complexity and technical demands. Anderszewski delivers a flawless performance, capturing the intricate nuances and subtle nuances of Bach's music.

The album opens with the lively and energetic Partita No. 1 in B-flat Major, which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Anderszewski's interpretation is precise and controlled, yet full of passion and intensity. He effortlessly navigates the intricate passages and complex rhythms, creating a sense of fluidity and grace.

The second partita, in C Minor, is a more somber and introspective piece. Anderszewski's sensitive touch and delicate phrasing bring out the melancholic beauty of the music, while his technical mastery allows him to execute the difficult passages with ease.

The third partita, in A Minor, is perhaps the most well-known of the six. Anderszewski's interpretation is both powerful and poignant, capturing the drama and intensity of the music. He brings out the contrast between the lively dance movements and the more contemplative sarabande, creating a sense of emotional depth and complexity.

About Bach Piotr Anderszewski

Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21, 1685 in Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany. A prolific German composer and organist, his sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra and solo instruments drew together the strands of the baroque genre and brought it to its ultimate maturity. Although he introduced no new forms, he enriched the prevailing German style with a robust contrapuntal technique, a control of harmonic and motivic organisation from the smallest to the largest scales, and the adaptation of rhythms and textures from abroad, particularly Italy and France. Many people consider him to be the greatest Baroque composer, and one of the greatest composers of all time. Revered for their intellectual depth, technical command and artistic beauty, J.S. Bach's works include the Brandenburg concertos, the keyboard suites and partitas, the Mass in B Minor, the St. Matthew Passion, The Musical Offering, The Art of Fugue and a large number of cantatas, of which about 220 survive. He died on July 28, 1750. Some of his sons also became composers - , , and .
